Due to the British government quarantine of the Chiron Corporation’s vaccine, the Visiting Nurse Services of the Northwest will be unable to fulfill their scheduled flu clinics within our stores.
A select group of Bartell Drugs pharmacies have a limited supply of vaccine and will continue to offer flu shots to qualified recipients using a vaccine created by Aventis Pasteur, which has had no quality control issues.
The Center for Disease Control has limited the administering of flu shots to priority groups identified as follows:
All children 6-23 months
Adults aged 65 years and older
Persons aged 2-64 years with underlying chronic medical conditions
All women who will be pregnant during the influenza season
Residents of nursing homes and long-term care facilities
Children aged 6 months -18 years of age on chronic aspirin therapy
Health care workers involved in direct patient care
Out-of-home caregivers and household contacts of children aged less than 6 months
Please note - Vaccine is available on a first-come-first serve basis. Bartell Drugs does not offer vaccines to individuals under the age of 18.
